From the Publisher

Warmest greetings from the Up-Mobile team! We continue in this issue with the theme: Attitude. We have received positive feedback on the new format of our articles. A million thanks to those of you who sent in encouragement, contributions and constructive criticism!

Several subscription and coaching requests have come in from outside Nigeria. The feedback from abroad is surprisingly positive. We are glad that people beyond our shores are being helped by this ezine. We are happy to be a blessing to so wide and varied an audience. Please keep spreading the word!

Quite a few copies of Four Steps to Success have been sent out. Remember, we are only giving out 100 copies. Please do not forget to give us feedback when you have read the booklet; you can see the feedback questions at the end. We would really appreciate this as it will help us package the material as part of an e-book for you, later this year. Also remember, you can avail yourself of free coaching on completing the book. A coach could help you clarify what you really want in life. Sometimes we think we want something, but deep down inside we really do not. For this underlying reason, such goals continue to elude us. A coach can help you find out what you really want, map out strategies to get it, and then keep it. So, order your copy of the booklet today, and then consider coaching.

This issue carries an article on your attitude towards money, and how this affects your finances. We find that many Nigerians have an unwholesome money attitude, and a wrong impression of how to build wealth. While we cannot correct this with one article, we do hope that we can help foster a new perspective. Please tell us what you think of our articles. It will help us give you information you can use. And it is all for free! We also feature tips for getting more money. Simple though these may seem, please do not despise them. They are tried and tested tips. Remember, wisdom is often hidden in simplicity.
Be sure to read the What’s New? section for some news.

Enjoy this 6th issue, and please keep the feedback coming. You are the reason for this ezine, and always will be.

Do all you dare in the next two weeks!

Serving with pleasure,

Oma Edoja,

Motivational Article (1)

Your Attitude and your Money by Oma Edoja

With regard to money, what do you think and expect?

-To never have enough?
-To have to borrow?
-That it will never come to you?
-That you are not capable of earning enough?
-You have to do criminal things to be rich?
-Godly people cannot have money?
-There is none in this country; you have to leave for “greener pastures?”

Brian Tracy says, “When you confidently expect good things to happen, good things usually happen to you. If you expect negative things to happen to you, you are usually not disappointed.” Your situations mirror back to you what you expect. If your expectations and attitude toward money are negative, you will have an unpleasant money situation. The opposite is also the case.

Quick Tips and Ideas

Three Tips for Getting More Money by Oma Edoja

• Practice good stewardship. You are not the owner of the resources in your care. You met them here on the earth, and you will leave them behind. You are merely a steward of God’s wealth. A steward is one who manages another’s property on his behalf. A good steward increases wealth and multiplies his resources on behalf of the owner. He is skilled and businesslike in handling money. Whether great or small, a good steward will handle money well, and multiply it. A bad steward on the other hand, expends whatever money comes his way, often having nothing left. He frequently goes into debt, further decreasing his net worth. What kind of steward have you been? Identify ways that you can be a better steward of what you have. Get started with good stewardship today. Till you learn to manage the resources you have, an increased income will do you no good; you will only fritter it away. This is why some people never progress financially. Money only goes where it is well managed.

Inspirational Quotes

“God’s wealth comes from diligence and discipline. It is not dependent upon the amount of money you earn.”
-Dwight Nichols

“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”
-Proverbs 10:4

“Seeth thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean (obscure) men.”
-Proverbs 22:29

“Moreover it is required of stewards that a man be found faithful.”
-1 Corinthians 4:2

Where Does Your Money Go? By Oma Edoja

Did you ever hear the nursery rhyme where Mary, Quite Contrary was asked, “How does your garden grow?” Well if she were around today her accountant would probably be asking her, “Where does your money go?”

Perhaps you ask yourself the same question, month after month.
And if you are like most people, you have no definite answer. You are not alone; there is a world-wide club of others just like you, whose salaries are “too short” and whose months are “too long”! (I almost said, “Welcome to the club!”)

What’s New?

We have a “trial chat room” up and running! We say, “Trial” because we are still experimenting with it. Chat schedules and other technicalities will be announced later on, so keep an eye on this section! You may pop in and see if anyone is in the room, but please be orderly or we will have to ban you from future entry. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.

We have some survey questions for you to answer, to help you achieve more. If you would like to take part in the survey, please copy and paste the questions to your email program, fill in your answers and send them to proact04@yahoo.co.uk. As a token of our appreciation, you will receive a free email coaching session designed to help you:

1. Identify what you really want; often this is not what you think.
2. Identify what hinders you from achieving it; again, this is often not what you think.
3. Identify steps to help you achieve what you really want (anything is possible, if you will do what it takes).
4. Inspire and motivate you to get on track.

N.B. A coach does not tell you what to do, or make you do something you do not want to. Rather a coach helps you find your own solution and implement it. Would that not be wonderful? At last, an independent, unbiased person to hold your hand and help you get what you want! And when you finally achieve your goal you will feel so accomplished that you will want to take on more!
Take the survey now, send in your answers and begin your free email coaching session.

The information you supply will be held in strict confidence. Unless you specify to the contrary, we will not contact you again, so do not fear a barrage of mails or spamming. We are strictly anti-spam. Your survey answers will be used to tailor this ezine’s content to better meet your needs, and to develop products you can benefit from. If we know what you need we can give it to you!
